WEEKLY SPECIAL CLASSES
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
As the Living God is the Master Artist of the Universe, we believe it is important to encourage students to develop their God-given gifts and talents. In the Old Testament, the gift of art is specifically displayed in a young man named Bezaleel. God called Bezaleel and “filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship” (Exodus 31:1-3)
FourteenSix Christian Academy offers a wonderful art program every Wednesday. Students learn art history, appreciation, and technique through fun and engaging hands-on projects. The program culminates each year with an Art Show displaying the beautiful artwork students have completed throughout the year.
“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord” Ephesians 5:19
Music is a marvelous gift to us from God. It moves us emotionally, spiritually and physically. When we hear it and sing it or create it, music has the power to change our state of mind. Studies have shown that music can have a healing effect on our emotions, increase IQ, and even speed up physical recovery from injury. The power of music still remains a mystery and the Bible tells us we should use this marvelous gift to worship God.
At FourteenSix Christian Academy we place a high value on the importance of learning music appreciation and offer a weekly music class on Tuesdays. Children learn note names, music appreciation, and participate in a musical production one to two times per year.
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
As we are made in the image of God, and His Holy Spirit dwells within us, it is important that we teach children the importance of taking care of our physical bodies all for the glory of God. Physical Education allows the student to acknowledge God’s amazing Creation by fostering the continuous development of the body’s physical abilities.
At FourteenSix Christian Academy, we offer P.E. once per week on Thursdays providing a fun venue for teaching godly character, such as working as a team and encouraging one another to be all God created us to be.
